To me there is something beautiful about something we as humans have put into nature like a dock into a pond. No matter how hard we try, how resilient we make it, it returns to the earth to begin a new cycle. The challenge then becomes how to preserve the beauty of nature. To not allow any access is to create a forbidden fruit, something that gives a sense of guilty wonder. To allow uncontrolled access is to invite the ruination of that natural beauty.
